The details

May brings a sculptural finishing layer to a simple black outfit. The short, wide outline creates a strong shape across the shoulders, with the smooth fabric reflecting the light in soft folds.

Folded shoulder panels add volume over the upper arms, while the cropped body keeps the silhouette compact. The contrast between the broad upper shape and short hem gives the piece its directional character.

Layer it over a plain black top and wide trousers for a thoughtful play on proportion. It is a lovely companion to textured pieces, allowing the smooth surface to sit alongside checks or raised fabric details.
